Gustin Gang members are killed in a shootout in the North End.
December 21, 1931
Frank Wallace, reputed head of the gang, and Bernard “Dodo” Walsh are killed at a meeting with Joseph Lombardo and other members of rival Buccola Gang in the North in the Testa Building at 317 Hanover Street. According to Beverly Ford and Stephanie Schorow, “[The murders (for which no one is ever convicted)] “allowed the Italians to establish themselves as a dominant criminal organization in the city for more than fifty years.”
